Styrofoam. We don’t get a lot of delivery or takeout food since I, in particular, like to cook, and delivery food is too much of a rapichage for my taste. Unless it’s pizza and then it’s another matter altogether.
We ordered food from a Chinese place on Murray street that only has takeout or delivery, Huan Xi, based on a recommendation from a pestering busybody who’s constantly bossing people around. (You know who you are). The food, delivered in less than 15 minutes and still piping hot, was very good in general, the dumplings were really very good specifically but ugh, styrofoam. The food came in plastic containers which I hate, too, but can and will reuse over and over. I washed the styrofoam dumpling container and will reuse it as well but, I just can’t bring myself to order food if I know it’s coming in plastic or styrofoam. Why can’t they use those paper containers like they do in all the movies? Then we can sit on the bed and eat out of the paper containers with chop sticks.
Every time I see that in a movie or TV show I say “MOVIE CLICHÉ,” as loudly as possible, much to the amusement of the people around me, I assume.

I agree!!!! Ban that damn styrofoam!!!
I wonder if I could bring my own containers. I’d be happy to do that.
I love that place. The cumin lamb. Garlic eggplant. I didn’t know they only have take out or delivery now.
You know, I was told that and I didn’t really think to see if you can eat in the place. Not that I think I’d want to. Isn’t it in a strip mall kinda deal? We were going to get take out anyway and he wanted Chinese. We’re playing the field. This was definitely the best we’ve had so far.
Michael, I thoroughly agree with you, I can’t eat out of styrofoam. As you’re aware, it’s harmful to us, and the environment. I have politely asked restaurants to please not use styrofoam. Believe it or not, some people are still unaware.
I think most people are unaware. Or just don’t care. Although I will say when I had a restaurant it came with cases and cases of styrofoam containers. They were already there. We used them. And apologized.
