Fond remembrances of summer

I was once told that word surimi, that fake crab leg stuff, really means “fond remembrances of the sea.” What I’d like to fondly remember is what the hell I did to make these pickles taste so freaking good. I am working my way through the various pickled things I put up last summer and popped open these bad boys without much in the way of expectation because I do not-so-fondly remember that these were over-large lemon cucumbers, so not really all that edible. When I was doing it thought I was wasting my time.

Turns out I wasn’t. Nonetheless, I don’t recall how I made them. Too bad I don’t have a means to record the things I make and eat so I could just glance back and there it would all be. All real magical-like.
