For some reason that escapes me, two of the 5 jars of sauce did not seal. When you take them out of the hot water bath the lid should pop tight. I hate it when they don’t. But I realized that I have the perfect pot for re-water bathing them. An asparagus steamer. I have never used it to make asparagus. But it is good for one-off jar steaming. (The idea is that the jar must be in hot water but cannot be touching the bottom of the pot it is steaming in so the basket works perfectly.) It’s impractical if you’re going to steam 5 gallons of sauce one jar at a time but for the errant unsealed jar it works.
And they did seal.
I would never steam asparagus, the microwave works better and grilling, well there is no comparison.
