When I was in art school there was a Korean, or possibly Japanese, master’s student whose show consisted entirely of photographs of green onions. The MFA students did not socialize with the undergraduates and I never really got to know her which is probably why I don’t recall her nationality. But I went to her show and at the time I had no idea what in the hell she was doing and how this might translate into an MFA.
Now, having just picked my own first, if small, green onions, or Spring Onions as her show was titled, I still have no clue.
