House-made green bean casserole

I wanted to make green bean casserole but I didn’t want to make enough to serve an army. Opening a can of Campbell’s mushroom soup would produce too much so I decided to make my own mushroom sauce. It was no where near as hard as you’d imagine. And twice as good as condensed cream of mushroom soup (and I’d eat that shit out of a can with a spoon). I even made my own fried onions to put on top. It was radiant. I mean super delicious. The issue there is that frying onions stinks. For days. So there’s a trade off. But roasting turkey masks the smell of the fried onions and if you drink enough who the hell cares.

The sweet potatoes weren’t half bad either.
