Garnishes lost

Why does this happen? I made creamed chicken and biscuits again—and this time the biscuits were perfect, not that they were that bad last time but these were superior—and to finish I had chopped parsley to scatter on it before I served it.

The parsley serves no real purpose except to be pretty which is a purpose in and of itself of course. I don’t know why I go through this exercise every time. I never ever remember to garnish. Not that the dinner is ruined exactly but the prettiness quotient is not exactly where it needs to be.

And I had purposely put the chopped parsley between the oven and the stove where I’d be sure to see it when the damn thing came out of the oven…but no. There it was staring accusingly at me when I brought the poor unadorned leftovers back from the table.
