Seriously, peeling thse onions was an enormous pain in the ass. But caramelized in Guinness and Worcestershire sauce they made the show. For book club I made yet another chicken pot pie. Leeks, mushrooms, onions. And prunes. No wait, the prunes made the show.
It was book club. We read Ian McEwan’s Nutshell, a retelling of Hamlet set in England. Pot pies seem English. Particularly with prunes.
The book was as good as the pie.
