Fire up that grill

My father did not like to eat grilled food. He was afraid of getting cancer. He was afraid of many foods for various reasons. I have to admit that while I think all food in moderation is fine, except wine, (vast quantities are just about right), I have always had a vague suspicion about grilled food even though I grill with reckless abandon.

So this article came as a relief.  The tests that seem to suggest a link between cancer and grilled food (not just meat) were done on laboratory animals and used thousands of times the amount of the compound that causes the cancer. Sort of like red wine and heart disease, for any real benefit you’ll need to consume thousands of times the amount normally consumed by humans. I’m working on that.

Last night’s dinner.
