Eating in and around the holidays can be weird. You ate too much the night before or you’re planning to eat too much the next day. You have the groceries for a holiday meal but not anything for lunch. The refrigerator is full but it’s for New Year’s, plus you don’t want to make the effort, or get everything dirty and require running of the dishwasher. My kitchen looks like a disaster even when I’ve just opened the refrigerator to eat cottage cheese from the container with the doors open.
In steps Husoor who made fried rice with leftover rice from, um, I dunno. This meal was freaking awesome. Like restaurant quality over-the-top delicious. He said it was Singapore fried rice. He knows that side of the Earth, I don’t so I’ll take his word.
